Stellar Music 22 : YUKUN (Singapore) - Progressions, Lush 99.5 FM

Stellar Music is privileged to have Singapore’s pioneering progressive / trance DJ Yukun featured on the podcast this week.

Starting his DJing career in 1991, Yukun's popularity and hype revolving around his name has rocketed sky high in recent years whilst DJing alongside stellar gods such as Hybrid, Paul van Dyk, Scott Bond, Above & Beyond, Solarstone, Agnelli & Nelson, Pulser, Matt Darey... and the list goes on. He has also done vinyl-release-only remix works for international DJs like Chicane, Marco V, Lange, Tiesto and more recently, British trip hop band Lamb.

His career has also brought him all the world from Indonesia to Hong Kong, from Kuala Lumpur to Osaka, and from London to Prague.

Back home, he has anchored for brand nights like ongoing Progressions, Acceleration and Space 2020; inclusive of Singapore club residencies at the defunct Centro, Liquid Room and more recently at Barbaablackchic. He has been featured with several globally-based guest mix sets for Solarstone's Deep Blue Radio Show on DI.FM as well as for John Askew’s show on VONYC.

Dabbling in the world of uber cool afterhours sound, Yukun does a monthly Saturday night mix show on Singapore's Lush 99.5 FM as well as hosting his own weekly Wednesday show (Private Reserve) with the station, exploring the vast eclectic hybrids of chillout sounds. He has also been commissioned to mix for several chillout CDs for labels like Avex Trax and Musictronic.

Stellar Music 11 : DJ ITCHI (Singapore) - JUICE MAG DJ QUEST 2005 & Pioneer ProDJ 2005 Singapore Champion

With a DJ career which started back in 1999, DJ Itchi aka Jason Teo has graced the decks of numerous parties at some of the most prestigious clubs from Zouk to Liquid Room, armed with with an arsenal of tune with genres ranging from progressive house, breaks and trance.

Not only is Itchi the JUICE Mag DJ Quest 2005 winner, he also went on later to impress the industry critics at the inaugural Pioneer Pro DJ Digital Battle competition held in Zouk Singapore - and eventually became winning this competition. Representing the island at the Regional Finals held in Zouk KL later on, Itchi clinched the runner-up position. You can only expect a mural of sounds when Itchi goes behind the decks!

Stellar Music 09 : THOMAS PANINARO (Germany/ China) - LIVE in Shanghai

Wow, Stellar Music's 10th Release! Here's our 1st trance mix in the series, 77 mins of melodic mash-up, mixed up by China's most diverse high profile DJ - Thomas Paninaro, entitled A World Beyond (2006)

In recent years, Paninaro has become a permanent fixture in China' booming clubbing scene, making a name for himself with his signature trance and breaks sound. Since 2004, Thomas has played alongside Scott Bond, Johan Gielen, Above & Beyond, Agnelli and Nelson, Eddie Halliwell, Pulser, JFK, The Thrillseekers, Anne Savage.

2005 saw him embarking on massive tours covering more than 50 cities in Mainland China. During the summer months, he rocked the clubs for Channel V, Asia's leading music channel. Thomas is also supporting the development of the burgeoning Chinese scene not only behind the desks but also via the airwaves. His biggest audience are probably the 700,000 listeners who tune into Live It Up, Shanghai!, broadcasted every week day at the 990 News Channel where he presents the latest trends in the music industry.

At the age of only 25, DJ Brian Laruso aka Steffen Baumgart has emerged as one of Germany's most exciting DJ/producers in recent years!

Together with partner in crime, Shah, their collaborative outfit entitled 'Shah & Laruso Presents Global Experience' has churned out some of the most talked about singles of recent months: Tennessee / Dakar as well as Zanzibar / San Salvador. Not only are some of his latest tracks being signed to the big man DJ Tiesto's Blackhole label, the world's current No 2 DJ has also selcected Zanzibar to be included in this recent CD release of the infamous 'In Search of Sunrise' mix series release (release worldwide in early Summer 2006)
